Install many apps at once with winget
Use the package manager built into Windows to install and update apps.
winget (Windows Package Manager) is built into Windows 10 and 11. It downloads each program from the address its developer registered, checks the file's SHA-256 and installs it without clicking through setup screens.
Open a terminal
Right-click the Start button and choose Terminal (or Windows PowerShell). Check that winget works:
winget --versionIf the command is not found, update App Installer from the Microsoft Store.
Install programs
winget install -e --id VideoLAN.VLC
winget install -e --id 7zip.7zipEvery kit on FPTWaze builds these lines for you: tick the programs and copy the command.
Update everything
winget upgrade --allFind a program
winget search "program name"On macOS and Linux
The same idea works with Homebrew on macOS (brew install --cask vlc) and Flatpak on Linux (flatpak install flathub org.videolan.VLC).
